A Sunny Escape: Embracing a New Tradition at The Westin Rancho Mirage

Transforming Holidays into Mini-Vacations at the Idyllic Golf Resort & Spa

In a departure from the usual Thanksgiving traditions, my family opted for a sun-soaked retreat, turning the long weekend into a memorable vacation at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa. This sprawling oasis, nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, became the backdrop for a new tradition, redefining the essence of a holiday getaway.

A Break from Tradition: Breaking free from the conventional Thanksgiving festivities, my family embraced the idea of transforming the holiday into a leisurely vacation. The decision to forgo the traditional turkey dinner in favor of a getaway marked a departure from routine, opening doors to a refreshing experience.

The Desert Haven: The Westin Rancho Mirage welcomed us with its campus-style layout, featuring lush landscaping and panoramic views of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountain ranges. The resort’s hacienda-like buildings, positioned around an 18-hole golf course designed by Pete Dye, exuded an understated desert charm.

A Landscape of Luxury: With its grand yet intimate design, the resort offered a myriad of experiences. From biking along scenic paths winding through cactus landscapes to watching children revel in the excitement of water slides at the family pool, every corner of The Westin Rancho Mirage unfolded as a canvas of luxury and leisure.

Diverse Recreational Offerings: The resort’s extensive offerings included three pools, six tennis courts, and various lawns and gardens, creating an inviting environment for both relaxation and recreation. Pinz & Pints, boasting duckpin bowling, draft beers, arcade games, and family-friendly fun, added a playful touch to the overall experience.

Culinary Delights: The heart of the resort, Pinzimini, a signature five-star restaurant housed in a central domed stucco building, became a culinary haven. Across from it, Pinz & Pints and Fireside Lounge offered diverse dining experiences, from brewpub delights and bowling to tapas and cocktails in a stylish setting.

A Home Away from Home: Our accommodation, strategically located a short walk from the resort’s central hub, provided a perfect blend of convenience and privacy. The first-floor balcony, opening onto a promenade, offered keyless entry, allowing seamless transitions in and out of our room.

Creating Timeless Memories: The Westin Rancho Mirage became more than just a destination; it became a canvas for crafting timeless memories. Children reveled in the freedom to explore, cousins enjoyed carefree moments, and the entire family discovered the joy of a Thanksgiving that transcended tradition.

As we bid adieu to The Westin Rancho Mirage, we carried with us not just the warmth of the desert sun but the essence of a newfound tradition – turning holidays into cherished vacations, surrounded by the beauty and luxury of a truly enchanting resort.
